I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and 6 years of teaching experience in both the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science departments in AUT for Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Biophysics, and Mechatronics and Control.
While undertaking my Bachelor’s degree I encountered many struggles such as the transition from high school to university expectations, achieving a good study/life balance, and dealing with impostor syndrome.
My mentoring history started as a Peer Mentor (tutor) as an undergraduate in 2015. While studying my PhD and lecturing in AUT, I worked with the Women in Technology group as an Academic Mentor for female engineering students.
